Description:

Design and deploy brand look and feel for the western themed TV production "Big Sky".

Solution:

Working closely with the show creators, producers, cast and crew, Jeff Hobrath, studied the clients overall mission, designed the appealing Big Sky brand logo and web site. He designed a look that captures the essence of the show and becomes easily recognizable. The logo was designed by Jeff to reflect the "Big Sky” style with an emphasis on the Native American foundation of the program.

Results:

The low cost, high value branding effort by Jeff was deployed quickly and successfully, resulting in high user satisfaction and successfully capturing the overall show genre. Customer has returned repeatedly for graphic design, web site design, support and consulting.

Project: U.S. Navy Workload Management System Branding and UI/UX Design

Description:

Design and deploy new brand look and feel for the Navy’s Workload Management System (WMS), to include insignia design, web site design, application UI/UX design and instructional material design.

Solution:

Working closely with the NAVAIR WMS program manager and development team, Jeff Hobrath, studied the clients overall mission, identified the users, and designed the brand and web application to work effectively on the known platforms. He designed a look that clearly sorts an enormous amount of data into a pleasant looking easy to view web site application, soft on the eyes to reduce strain. The insignia was designed by Jeff to reflect a “Military” style insignia that is relatable to the users and also bringing over the soft hues of the web site application.

Results:

Description:

Design and deploy new brand look and feel to include logo, marketing materials, training materials, display boards, CMS web site, business cards, and large tri-fold brochure.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath began creative consulting to Compass Systems in 2010. Jeff worked closely with Compass Systems to develop the brand refresh over a three year period, in two phases allowing the brand style and tone of voice to evolve with their strict budget requirements and growth of the company.

Results:

Since the incorporation of the Compass Systems brand refresh, the company was ranked 5th for Maryland Corporations (the Gazette’s P&B Exceptional 53) , jumping from 17th position in 2010.

Today, Compass Systems has grown to a $40 million plus company in four states, a highly recognized and respected brand. Bold, crisp and confident, the brand style delivers it’s message professionally and uniformed across the business enterprise. Description:

Create a U.S. Navy related brand, build a web site, design a product line and market the concept to U.S. Navy personnel and their loved ones. The brand concept, graphics and web site to all be designed and developed by Jeff Hobrath.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath developed the product line based around his proprietary military designs, maintained the role as senior graphic artist, web master, marketing lead and President from 1997-2013. Jeff teamed with industry experts and hard chargers growing the business from his basement to an 8,000 square ft production facility and employing 15+ personnel.

Results:

NavyChief.com is a full service e-commerce web site that generates in excess of $1 million annually, is a recognized top brand in Navy Exchange Stores world-wide and ships direct to customers from the production facility in Leonardtown, MD. Jeff's art became so popular he was personal guest of the White House, was featured on T.V. shows and has received countless recognitions. Project: OMNi Compass GPS Branding, Web and Print Design

Description:

Design and deploy new brand look and feel for the OMNi Compass GPS device, to include logo, training materials, screen UI/UX design, display boards, tri-fold brochure, marketing materials, flyers and digital media.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath met with the OMNI’s engineers and software developers to gain a strong understanding of the end users, the mission and capabilities of the OMNi. He designed the brand look and feel that would appeal to the user, be flexible across government and commercial markets, to include a coordinating set of infographics for training and presentational purposes. As the product was in development Jeff honed the graphic materials to match the engineers final product - reducing waste, saving the company’s marketing dollars to ensure accurate representation at time of print and product release. Jeff has created hundreds of images for this project supporting the business development team, engineers and software developers.

Results:

Today the OMNi Compass GPS is used world wide in military, humanitarian and emergency response applications. Customer has returned repeatedly for graphic design, support and consulting.

Project: Henrico Education Foundation Annual Report Booklet Design

Client: Henrico Education Foundation

Description:

Design and deploy new annual report for the Henrico Education Foundation Richmond Virginia. To include concept, design, page layout and pre-press.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath, while contracted at Capital One, was asked by leadership to serve as Art Director on the project. He teamed with two copywriters and was given free reign to “run with it”. Jeff came up with the concept, using bold colors, crisp lines and clean type making it easy and pleasurable for the reader to engage in the booklet. The concept draft was accepted with overwhelming response from both the client and staff.

Results:

The HEF board of directors regarded it as the most successful annual report in the history of the program.

Project: Joint Deficiency Reporting Systems (JDRS) Branding, Web and Print Design

Description:

Design and deploy new brand look and feel for the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS), to include logo, training materials, web site design, application UI/UX design, display boards, tri-fold brochure, marketing materials, flyers and digital media.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath joined the JDRS team in 2007 and immediately developed the JDRS band and supporting graphics for both digital and print needs. He designed the brand look and feel that would appeal to the user, be flexible across government and commercial markets, to include infographics, training materials, presentations and event promotional materials.

Results:

Since Jeff successfully completed the JDRS program branding effort, it has been incorporated DoD wide as a primary application used by all Military branches. In 2008 Jeff received a NAVAIR Commendation for his work on this project.

Project: State of the Art Survival Items Branding, Web and Print Design

Description:

Design and deploy brand look and feel for the State of the Art Survival Items program, to include logo, web site graphics, promotional materials and catalog.

Solution:

Jeff Hobrath teamed with the SOA SI, NAVAIR PMA 202 and Human Systems engineering to understand the scope of the project. They wanted an icon that would resemble “smaller, lighter, tougher” in line with the concept of the smaller, lighter and tougher survival items developed by the program. To capture that in a recognizable icon, Jeff illustrated the SOA SI Badger logo. He designed the brand look and feel that would appeal to the user and very simple to duplicate in various formats for print and web. Jeff also did the page layout and design for the SOA SI catalog.

Results:

SOA SI is now a highly recognized program with in the Naval Special Warfare and survival related communities. In 2009 Jeff received a NAVAIR 1.0 award for his work on this project.
